I just ordered some things for DH from a company I have been seeing and was wanting to try... They have all kinds of Egyptian sweets, petite four, moushebic, burma... Things I can't make and DH likes. So I went out on a limb and ordered $50 woth of stuff from them. Insha'Allah I will review the products here on the blog once I get them. The company I used is:
Masri SweetsAnd if they can save our friends from carrying moushebic all the way from Cairo I am definitely going to be a happy woman!LOL

which one is mouchebic?
I want a koshari shop darnit.
screw the sweets, give me my carbs.
Moushebic looks kinda like a funnel cake and it is basically a fried thingi dipped in sharbat....
Girl, I can teach you koshari! Are you talking the one with macaroni and brown lentils? It isn't exactly the same but a darn good imitation... I think the street vendors have some secrets still;)
Yea molly, kushary is easy peasy. Ummlayla how *sweet* of you!
Yummmmmmmmy! The photo is just like the fattening Arabic sweets we can buy here in Saudi in the supermarkets and patisseries. Try not to buy them too often though!
Salaam,
I'm totally late on this, but have just discovered your blog.
I live in Dearborn and have bought from all the sweet shops.
Masri is ok, but Shatila is much much better. Yasmeen is good too.
Both are worth a try.
