I ran over here as fast as my legs could carry me! I almost majored in chidren's lit. I LOVED your list. Some other favorites:
The Frances Series. Kind of old, but SO worth it. Especially Bedtime for Frances.
Corduroy series.
Pinkilicious.
The Alice in Wonderland Pop-Up book.
The Easter Day Parade.
The Miss Nelson Books.

I concur with Lisa...you have to read pinkalicious if you have not yet. I remember finding it for the first time at Barnes and Nobles and reading it to my girls. The were in as much awe as I was. As for the initial list....Mo Willems is one of my new favorite children writers. That pigeon is just so dang cute! :)
My daughter loves Mo Willems, have you read the Naked Mole rat book yet?
Assalaamu'Alaykum :) That was a great list, even though there were a few there that didn't cross my childhood radar. I was hooked on Laura Ingalls Wilder, Tixie Belden series of mysteries, Bobbsey twins stuff, and stuff I can't even remember anymore! The Dr. Seuss is still pretty awesome, and oh! Charlotte's Web was a fave.
Oh, those were the days when I could read all day and all night and nothing could stop me. Hope your kids have a ball of a time reading. I remember the libraries having summer reading programs, where we'd get stickers, pencils, and erasers just for keeping track of the books we read; do your children participate in those things?

I was influenced by British literature in my childhood and one of my all-time favourites was Enid Blyton's books: Adventures of the Missing Chair, The Enchanted Wood, Mr. Meddle's Muddles, oh and I loved Mr. Twiddle series!
You gotta get your hands on them... I think I may want to check to see if they are available in North America.
I like the Rainbow Fish. Not sure of the others. Check out some Robert Munsch books. I sort of grew up with them and bought them here to share with my students. Their favorites are always the Robert Munsch books.
