Presentation

Layla's cultural heritage thing was Wednesday and Thursday... Since I've talked about it so much I thought I would share the finished project. Oh, and she wore one of my jilbabs. The funny thing was that of all the things we talked about she remembered one without fail. The Nile is 4,160 miles long. Funny what kids latch onto, huh?

Assalaamu alaikum,
Looks good - alhamdu Lillah it's out of the way now!
Funny what you say about the things kids latch onto... when my eldest was still a baby a friend who is a primary school teacher asked me to give her class of 7 year olds a short talk about Islam. I talked about the basics and then my friend asked if there were any questions... a little girl put her hand up and we asked what her question was... "Where did you get the buttons on your baby's cardigan?" LOL! My daughter had a home made cardigan with bunny shaped buttons, lol.

MashAllah. It looks awesome.

you gave her one of your jilbabs? Wasn't it too big on her? Maybe I'm misunderstanding the age of your daughter?

Was your DH satisfied about how it turned out?

Thanks everyone! I was happy with how she did on it in the end.

UmmIbrahim, that's too funny about the buttons! My little one is always the focal point of conversations when I bring here somewhere!LOL

Molly, No, you are not wrong about the age. She is only 8... But she is a little tall and I am only 5 feet, so it was big on her but we got away with it. DH is going to have his sister send some outfits for her though. He was surprised when I told him she didn't have anything. The boys have white jilbabs and kufis... So why not have some things for her?
